In 2026, eargym seeks to bring hearing health to a new population.
We’re working with specialists in Cleveland Clinic’s audiology program to co-develop a rehabilitation training pathway for patients who have received cochlear implants, funded by Cleveland Clinic.
Cochlear implants are medical devices that bypass damaged parts of the ear to directly stimulate the auditory nerve, enabling people with significant hearing loss to perceive sound and reconnect with spoken language, music, and the world around them. After the implant is activated, patients undergo training exercises that focus on teaching the ear to hear again.

The eargym team has worked with audiologists at Cleveland Clinic to design fun and compelling auditory training content, designed to aid and clinically assess rehabilitation post-implant surgery.
Karen Petter, AuD, clinical audiologist and auditory-based therapist at Cleveland Clinic, noticed a gap in fun and easy-to-use materials for cochlear implant patients as they were rehabilitating their hearing.
“This project has filled in that gap,” she said. “It’s so rewarding to hear patients tell us how the program has helped them hear better and reconnect with their family, friends, and community.
Implant users have relished training and gameplay to date. In 2026, audiologists at Cleveland Clinic expect to make content available to assist more patients in clinic, while eargym will seek broader opportunities to support more implant patients worldwide.
“eargym’s project with Cleveland Clinic has allowed us to showcase our expertise and talents as a bespoke hearing health research partner, in our ever-growing portfolio of work with innovative industry partners”, says Amanda Philpott, CEO & Founder of eargym Ltd.
